I was a close friend of Hy Kaufman while growing up in the Bronx. I regretfully lost contact and did not realize that he lived in Boynton Beach when he passed. I was already living in Boynton Beach at that time. Sorry to hear about passing of his sister Faye who I also knew quite well. Would like to hear from any family members. I have photos of/with him as well as (probably) letters during WWII when we served in different theatres – he in Europe, me in South Pacific and Pacific. I was a very close friend of Hyman Kaufman of the Bronx NY. I was sorry to read about his passing on 12/27/2015. I was already a resident of Boynton Beach at that time and had lost contact. Regret the lost opportunity to see him prior to passing.. Also sorry to read that Faye, his sister, had predeceased him. I would like to hear from any relatives who might want to know more about his earlier years. I also have some pictures of/with him. Discovered this on 12/12/2017 – 2 years too late. If he indeed lived in the Bronx during his boyhood and attended Evander Childs HS and enjoyed playing the clarinet as well as photography and had a sister-in-law(?) named Maxine – with red hair (several years his junior) then I surely knew him.
