Edward I Mann
March 9, 1927 - January 17, 2022
Edward Mann 3/9/1927-1/17/2022 After spending a glorious day with Reva (Bokser) Mann, his wife of 71 years, telling jokes, recalling events and beautiful memories, holding hands and cajoling together, Edward I Mann unexpectedly suffered injuries that led to his passing. Ed was born in Boston, MA, son of the late Joseph Bernard Mann and Anna Gordon Mann. He served in the Army-Air Force during WWII in the Pacific, then returned to Boston and studied at Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology. He became a skilled electrician and loved his work. He won the lifetime lottery when he met his beautiful wife on a blind date and married her in 1950. They raised their 3 children in Randolph, MA until moving to Plantation, FL to join his parents, sister and brother in sunny Florida. Over the years he managed Garden Drugs, dabbled in real estate, and traveled the world. He retired to Delray Beach, but spent most weekends on the west coast of Florida, in Fort Myers Beach and then Marco Island. Ed’s priority at all times was his family. He understood what was important in life. He was a role model for all honest men and fathers. He and Reva were blessed with the most precious gift life can give-a lifetime of true love. We were all blessed to see such a love story and be part of his life. The grandchildren will surely pass on the secret $20 handshake to their children! Ed was preceded in death by his sister, Bernice Sandler. He is survived by his loving wife, Reva; his devoted children, Debra (Steven) Cohen, Robert (Marla) Mann and Wendy (Tom) Lardin; his beautiful grandchildren, Joanna Lardin, Jackie Lardin, Eric Lardin, Jason (Jackie) Mann, Michael (Ali) Mann, Lee (Hallie) Cohen, and Ben Cohen; and his adorable great-granddaughters, Blair Mann and Isla Cohen. Survivors also include his loving brother Arnold (Phyllis) Mann with whom he shared a lifetime of experiences, along with 2 sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved and enjoyed very much. Graveside services will be held Thursday, January 20, 2022, at 12:15 PM at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens, 11520 State Road 7, Boynton Beach, FL 33473. (561) 600-9218 Memorial contributions may be made to Magen David Adom at www.afmda.org or to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org or any charity of your choice.
