Obituary of Felix Fischler November 20, 1922- March 26, 2022 Felix Fischler exemplified a life well lived. He grew up in Bronx, New York where he met and married his now deceased wife, Esther Penney Fischler. He was a WWII war hero and received the Purple Heart. After WWII, Felix completed his college education and became a Certified Public Accountant. In 1952, Felix and Penney began a family with the births of their first son, Burton, and their second son, Charles. Early in the 1950’s, they moved to East Meadow, NY to raise their family. They resided their until Felix retired at age 70. Then, they moved to Boynton Beach, Florida. Felix and Penney continued to live a rich life, immersed in Judaism, music, theater, adult education, and folk dancing. First and foremost, they loved their family. Felix was a loyal and beloved husband to his wife of 74 years, Esther Penney, until her death at age 96; extraordinary father to his sons, Burton and Charles; loving father-in-law to Denise Costa and Roxine-Brown Fischler, respectively; beloved grandfather to Danielle Cocos; Adrian Cocos, grandfather-in-law, and beloved great-grandfather to Lucian and Ilan. He was a beloved first cousin to Ruth Davis; beloved uncle to Linda Devecki; beloved uncle to Fred Cohen; and respected mentor to Marty Gropper. Over the past few years, he received heartfelt caretaking from Res Hermann. He was blessed by their love, as they were blessed by his. Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM on March 29, 2022 at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens in Boynton Beach. Directly following the memorial service, a Shiva celebration of life will be hosted by the family at Felix’s home. The family requests that donations be made to Jewish National Fund’s Trees for Israel in memory of Felix Fischler at shiva.com.
