Lois Brody
July 20, 2021
Lois Applebaum Brody, devoted wife of 59 years, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2021. She was born to Lee and Israel Applebaum on March 14, 1939 in Philadelphia, PA. As an only child Lois developed a strong sense of independence and drive. After graduating from Olny High School, Lois chased her dreams in medicine, specializing in the field of radiology. Lois assisted in the development of the first successful mammogram. Lois met the love of her life, Robert, while attending a friend’s wedding. Dressed in a stunning blue dress, she caught his eye. It was love at first sight and on that day Robert professed to a friend that she would become his wife. Lois was a kind, modest and decent person, lovely and elegant, patient and powerful, inside and out. She was a sagacious counselor, trusted confidante and an active listener. She had a keen intuition and an eidetic sense of what everyone needed in the moment. She lived with passion, she had integrity and she was extremely loyal to her family, friends and her faith. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband Robert, daughter Robyn, son in-law Isaac, and grandchildren Aaron and Ariel. A celebration of Lois’s life will be held at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel-Boynton Beach with Rabbi Bruce Benson officiating on Monday, July 26, 2021 10:15am. The celebration of life will continue graveside at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens and will conclude with a reception at The Gourmet Deli House. Lois’ family reminds you that life is precious. Be kind to someone you love. Call a friend or relative you haven’t reached out to recently. Visit a shut in or nursing home resident, or forgive someone who has deeply hurt you. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you make a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
