Marlene Rudan
June 22, 1945 - January 18, 2022
Marlene Rudan, resident of West Palm Beach, FL passed away at the age of 76 on January 18, 2022. Marlene was born in Corpus Christi, Texas to a family stationed at the naval base in the closing months of World War II. She was soon whisked back east by her parents, Eddie and Sylvia, to be raised in Queens, NY, where she was first a fan of the Brooklyn Dodgers, before gravitating to Yankees pinstripes. She was a bleached-blond lover of disco dancing, the spine-tingling thrills of a good scary movie, and Italian food. She was a quick wit with a hearty laugh, who never met a stranger and was generous with cooking tips. Marlene also had a soft spot for stray dogs and cats who were lucky enough to wander up to her front door for a lifetime of food, drink, and love. On a hot day, they would find ice cubes in their water. She loved being with family and gathering for holidays. The excitement of sitting with multiple generations at Pesach in Florida brought her some of her greatest pleasure. The light of her life was her granddaughter. She is survived by daughter Jyll (Jim) Vertuno; Granddaughter Olivia Vertuno; and Dear sister Barbara (Gary) Katz. Also surviving are her nieces and nephews Matt (Allison) Bernstein, Genny (Tim) Gibbs, and Jodi (Scott) Gershman; and her great-nieces and nephew Alana & Aubrey Bernstein, and Quinn Gershman.
