Shelly and Shirley, individually and as couple, have been close friends of my late wife and myself beginning before they started dating up to the present day for almost seventy years. I have marveled at Shelly’s courage and attitude when dealing with his cancer and at Shirley’s care and support.Just one anecdote. Shelly had just begun dating Shirley when we had a horrific blizzard with so much snow that the streets were impassable. Despite the conditions, Shelly walked the more than ten miles to see Shirley. More than one of our friends thought that was pretty crazy, but it all worked out. I will miss him greatly. A gentle soul has left us, but we are better for having known him.
My deepest condolences to the family regarding Sheldon. From reading about him, it looks as if he lived life to the fullest and was passionate about the arts and the USA! An extraordinary man! My thoughts are with you all today and in the coming weeks. Hugs.
