Alan Lawrence Krutt's Obituary
Alan Lawrence Krutt August 10, 1932 – August 10, 2025.
Alan Lawrence Krutt, 93, of Delray Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on his birthday, August 10, 2025. Born on August 10, 1932, in Hartford, CT, Alan lived a rich and remarkable life, defined by his devotion to family, enduring friendships, and a passion for travel and the arts.
In 1959, Alan married his beloved wife, Marion Langfelder, with whom he built a loving home and raised three children outside of Hartford. A self-made businessman, Alan spent his career in the automotive industry, ultimately founding and leading K&F Industries, a prominent distributor of auto parts in the eastern United States. His work took him across the globe, especially to France and Italy, sparking a lifelong love of Italian culture and fashion that he shared with his children. His travels spanned most every continent, from historic cities in Asia and Europe to the landscapes of Africa, South America, and even Antarctica.
An avid golfer, Alan moved to Boynton Beach, FL, after retiring, where he lived until 2021. He spent his later years with his devoted partner, Carol Levin, in Delray Beach.
Alan was a proud U.S. Army veteran, stationed in Germany in the mid-1950s after graduating from the University of Connecticut. In September 2022, he was honored to join 80 other veterans on an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. to tour military memorials.
Above all, Alan took immense pride and joy in his family. He is survived by his daughters, Lisa Reiser (David) and Susan Promislo (Mark); grandchildren Lauren Cohen, Allison Reiser, Alexa Promislo, Carly Promislo, and Zachary Krutt; great-granddaughter Nelle Cohen; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife, Marion Krutt; son, Steven Krutt; brother, Bernard Krutt; and parents, Harry and Gertrude Krutt.
