Some of the earliest memories I have as a child are of the epic holiday parties in Uncle Al and Aunt Cece's home. We were always filled with wonder and joy in their home. Fast forward 2 decades, that rang true through my latest visit with them in Delray FL, January 2020. We shared a beautiful lunch together at the club, shared many laughs, dreams for the future, and always felt genuine care and understanding from Uncle Al. His legacy will live on as a forever beloved member of our family.

I’ll miss sitting on our Asbury porch listening to the many Jersey Shore stories Al enthusiastically shared with our family. The history and cultural persona of his youth came to life through his obvious good times and hard work ethics, something we both had in common as seniors with youthful children and family members. Al is remembered beyond just a brother-in-law instead he was a champion of the human spirit by helping others to realize their true potential. Favoritism was never bestowed instead all felt special in his presence. He took the time to care, ask relevant questions and patiently responded with gentle opinion and kind insight. Personally, an athlete, I too enjoyed his ball game banter and reference to the latest in the Star Ledger news but Al taught me something greater than sports. At a crossroads in my life, he suggested I take a ride in the company van. Through the hills of Morris County on a bright winter's day, he broke the news I had known in my heart but my head could not reconcile. My brother in law sent me on a new life trajectory which forever I am eternally grateful. God Bless Al. Forever I feel your smile in my heart.

Al was a best friend of mine for the past 52 years. He led a life that others dream of and strive to achieve. His choices in life on earth always were in the best interests of his family. He was many things to many people, He shared a love with Cecelia which was magical. The Lord will find a special place, for Al in the kingdom of Heaven. Until we meet again! Our loving brother-in-law Al Lehrhoff was a man of few words. They were always chosen with surgical precision. His insight, wit and generous spirit will be missed. His kind heart will be forever part of his legacy. Al was the best uncle to our two children. He always recalled our son Gabriel‘s baseball and hockey stats. None of us could stump him for his brilliant recall of any sports event. Al always encouraged our daughter, Daniella to live life in a big way.
Al loved, protected and respected his sweet wife, Cecilia, his son Kyle and daughter-in-law , Erin like no one I have ever met. He was one in 1 billion. A prince among men.
