Albert D Malyn's Obituary
Albert D. Malyn
Age 90, of Lantana, FL, passed away on June 11, 2021. Survivors include Rita, his wife of 65 years; son, Maury (Jane) Malyn; daughter, Shari (Jon Abbott) Malyn; granddaughters Jamie, Julie, Ellie, and Tatum; great-granddaughters Maya, Hannah, and Mira. At the request of his family, services will be private. Mr. Malyn will be laid to rest with military honors at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens, 11520 State Road 7, Boynton, Beach, FL, 33473 following his funeral service.
Born and raised in New Kensington, PA, Mr. Malyn was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. His teaching career was interrupted by the call to military service. His career as a US Air Force officer led his young family to postings across the country and three memorable years in Japan. After returning to the States, Al and his family lived in Columbus, OH, for over 20 years, before retiring to Florida.
Dedicated travelers, Al and Rita loved to take cruises, visit family, and notably made trips to Israel in both 1988 and 2011. Retirement in Florida provided an opportunity for Al to return to teaching as a substitute in several of the local schools. He was always happily greeted by former students wherever he went.
A good man, those who knew and loved him, remember Al as a jokester and raconteur. He was always quick with his ribald sense of humor and told stories with such obvious enthusiasm that no one minded hearing the same story many times over.
Contributions may be made in his loving memory to National Processing Center, Alzhimers Foundation, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, 11115 Jog Road, Lake Worth, FL 33437.
