Alfred Sklaver's Obituary
Alfred Sklaver, 82, of Valencia Falls in Delray Beach passed away Wednesday February 27, 2019. Alfred and Beverly, his beloved wife of 62 years, were formerly of New City, NY and moved to Delray in 2001. Alfred was a graduate of NYU and Brooklyn Law School and practiced in Yorktown Heights, NY. He was passionate about chess and always loved to play a good game, especially with his grandsons. A humble man by nature, Alfred was never one to give his opinions unasked. He was ever conscious of the effect of his words, so always chose them with great care. He infused his enduring wisdom with an endearing wit, taught without preaching, joked without mocking, and advised without condescending so that his spirit of intelligent love will forever live on in the hearts and minds of all who experienced his brilliant presence. In addition to being the beloved husband of Beverly, Alfred was the devoted father of Ellen (Eric) Bush, Phyllis (Fred) Perlmutter, and Randy (Bjorn Mascher) Sklaver; the cherished grandfather of David and Jason Bush; and the dear brother of Harvey (Ida) Sklaver. Chapel services will be 1:45PM on Sunday March 3, 2019 at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, 11115 Jog Rd., Boynton Beach, FL 33437 followed by interment in Eternal Light Memorial Gardens in Boynton Beach. Those wishing to honor Alfred with a memorial contribution are asked to kindly consider Tourette Association of America or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
