Allan Sokol's Obituary
Mark Sokol
Allan Sokol of Boynton Beach, FL, passed away on August 20, 2021. Born in Lawrence Massachusetts the late son of Harry and Francis Sokol. Allan was destined to travel and enlisted in the Air Force at the age of 17 and soon found himself stationed in Morocco. He served his country proudly completing his military service in Ft. Worth, Texas where he met his wife of 49 years, Rusty Sokol. His love of travel carried him all over the world by air and sea.
As a young boy Allan loved to work with his hands and learned to build houses, fix plumbing and was a certified electrician. Throughout his life he volunteered to help his friends and community with the skills he acquired, never hesitating to lend a hand. He was active and an honored Master Mason for almost 60 years.
Loving husband, father and grandfather. Allan was preceded in death by his wife, Rusty Sokol and brother Michael Sokol. He is survived by his companion Tami Weisfeld; sister Ruth Sandler and husband Sidney; son Mark Sokol and wife Mary; daughters Gayle Sokol and husband Dennis; Stephanie Smith and husband Eric. He’s also survived by nine grandchildren: Ben, Jess, David, Annie, Katie, Taylor, Joshua, Jacob and Justin; and he was Uncle Al to Mark, Scott, and Eric.
Allan will be laid to rest at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, August 31st at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any Veterans organizations in honor of Allan Sokol.
