Alvin Fertel, 88, passed away on March 28, 2024, in West Palm Beach, Florida. Alvin was predeceased by his wife, Loretta Fertel is survived by his daughters, Cindi Fertel Jacobs and Judy Fertel; grandchildren, Samuel and Matthew J Read Obituary
I had the pleasure of working with Mr Fertel at IS174. He was my supervisor and did so much to help me and make me a better educator. Always upbeat and smiling. Thank you Al. RIP.
I’m so sorry to hear of the passing of a friend from Hunter College - Bronx. Although I am the youngest member of our club Finn McCool, I got to know Al and his late dear wife Loretta through years here in Florida. We, fraternity brothers, have been meeting for several years as often as possible. Al was a kind, smart friend with a great sense of humor. Al will be missed. Al was a loving friend who was kind , considerate, thoughtful, and fun to be with. His dedication and connection to our college group (The Finn McCool Society) was so strong , he zoomed in from his hospital bed on the Monday before his death. Our personal relationship was very warm and would have been even closer had I known that his two grandsons are named Samuel and Matthew. He would have drawn much enjoyment knowing that two of my grandsons are named Samuel and Matthew. I loved Alvin and will miss him.
