To: Lillian and all the Rose family,
From: Don and Joan Castronovo.
Our sincere condolences.
The famous Will Rogers once wrote “I never met a man I didn’t like“. That was Al Rose, everyone liked him and he liked everyone.
For over 40 years we have been friends with Lillian and Al. We met at Alias Smith and Jones and always stayed in touch. Back in those days we had some great times. Lillian and Al and the whole beauty parlor crowd would come in to the restaurant and it was party time. Al and Lillian, Bob and Brenda, Jules and Shirley, Estelle and Shelly, the Greenberg ‘s, the Gilberts, Sid the coffee man and Joan, Marguerite and Scott, Roe, Louise and of course Karen and so many people from Montage, Roma , the Hair Machine.
No matter who it was, Al was right in the middle of the party with that perpetual smile on his face. I never remember the man without a smile. Many Saturday afternoons he came in for lunch with Jules and they’d have a couple of warm-up Vodkas and tell stories to get ready for Saturday night out.
Al was a man I will never forget. He was a true friend to everyone.
A man with a big heart, a love for Lil and his family, and a truly gentle soul.
Joan and I will miss you greatly.
RIP brother.
