Andrea was the youngest of 6 girls. She had a good life as a young child filled with siblings, cousins, aunts and uncles. She was beautiful, and could be funny. She had a full laugh, much like many of the women in her family. She chose to be a hairdresser and was talented at her profession. She had many clients that loved her and looked forward to coming in to get their hair done and hear the latest gossip. She was married only once and never had children, but her sisters gave her 4 nephews and 2 nieces, one of which was her God daughter. Andrea was a fierce lover and protector of animals, especially cats. She rescued and bottle fed more than one kitten in her lifetime. Andrea could be kind, generous and loving but she was also complicated. She battled many demons in her adult life and her relationships suffered as a result. However, her sister Barbara never stopped fighting for her baby sister and chose to always see the good that Andrea had inside of her till the day she died. I know Barbara was one of the first faces that Andrea saw when she died. In her passing I think I can speak for everyone when I say we are all taking a page from Barbara’s book and trying to only remember the good in Andrea instead of concentrating on the less pleasant memories. I know we are all also hoping she can find the solice that she couldn’t seem to find in life. Many years ago Andrea told me at her funeral she wanted to have ”time of your life” by Green Day played at her funeral, since she won’t be having a funeral I ask that any time you hear that song, think of her, and wish her peace.
