Andrew K Katz's Obituary
Andrew Keith Katz, of Wellington, FL, passed away suddenly, on Saturday March 27, 2021, at the age of 61. Andrew was born to Barry and Felicia (Granoff) Blonstein on February 11, 1960 in Brooklyn, New York. He spent his childhood growing up in Ridgewood New Jersey and graduated from Ridgewood High School. He earned a bachelor degree from Syracuse University in 1982.
Following graduation, he returned home to Brooklyn, and began to work in his family wholesale distributing business, Borough Hall Oxford Tobacco. In 1998 Andrew married Brenda Katz in Lido Beach, NY and moved to Atlantic Beach, NY. The couple had 2 wonderful children Stephanie and Ian. In 2005 Andrew moved his family to Wellington, Florida and started his own wholesale tobacco and cigar distribution business (Basik Trading). Family always came first, and he named his business from the first initial of everyones name, and a K for Katz. Andrew enjoyed time with friends and family, traveling, watching sports, golfing, cooking and living life to the fullest. Andrew was involved in numerous charities and served as Vice President on the board of Florida Association of Wholesale Distributors. He was a well respected business man known for his honesty, fairness, and compassion. He was so eminently fair to everyone.
Andrew was the most loving father, husband, son, brother, and friend. He was preceded in death by his father Phillip, and brother Craig. He is survived by his mother, Felicia, aunt Iris (Harry) Brenner, wife Brenda, daughter Stephanie and son Ian all of South Florida. A chapel service will be held on Wednesday March 31, 2021 beginning at 2:00 PM with Rabbi Mendy Muskal officiating.
