Andrew J Merva's Obituary
Andrew James Merva, 22, of Loxahatchee, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. He was born on February 22, 1999 in Boynton Beach, Florida.
He attended Cholee Lake Elementary School, Cornerstone Christian Academy, and graduated from Greenacres Christian Academy. At 15, Andrew began working as a bagger at the Publix Supermarket at Polo Grounds Mall, working his way up to be a cashier, and then a Customer Service Associate. Following his graduation in 2018, Andrew transferred to the Publix Supermarket in the Acreage and began working full time as the Customer Service Lead.
Andrew had a love of cars and car movies, especially Smokey and the Bandit. He knew the entire movie by heart and could recite it from memory. In May of this year, his passion for cars led Andrew to start a position at AutoZone in the Acreage. Very quickly, management noticed Andrew’s skills of hard work, dependability, and customer service. In October, he was once again promoted to Parts Sales Manager.
Andrew shared his mother’s love of animals and enjoyed helping her with her non-profit animal rescue, Cat’s Meow Animal Rescue.
Andrew was a very special son, brother, and grandson. His amazing smile would light up any room. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Andrew is survived by his parents, Anthony “Tony” Merva and Adeline Gallo-Merva; sister, Elise Rendell of Loxahatchee; grandmother Sue Merva of Latrobe,PA; great-grandmother, Nelda Metz Merva, of Lake Worth; Many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert J. Merva, of Latrobe, PA and Karen Stackowicz Merva Broedel of Lantana, James V. Gallo and Frances A. Wiehl-Gallo of Royal Palm Beach.
Arrangements are in the care of beloved family friend, Michael S. Register of Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, Delray Beach. A celebration of Andrew’s life is planned for a future date.
