Anita Cochran's Obituary
Anita "Nita" Cochran (née Stone), 78, of Plantation, Florida, passed away on March 10, 2024. She was born in Brooklyn, New York. Anita was known for her beauty, friendliness, and bubbly personality.
Anita was a Bursar at Keiser University and a graduate of Lafayette High School. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, knitting, and spending time with friends & family.
She is survived by her daughter, Ilisa "Lisa" Chaconas, son-in-law John Chaconas, honorary daughter Renee Abruzzino & her husband Rob Abruzzino, honorary son Louis A. Copp, nieces & nephews: Robert Fleming, Brian Fleming, Sandi Fleming, Ben Stone, Deirdre Stone, Jordan Stone, Hildie Katibah, and great-nieces Ashley Fleming, Jessie Stone, Tali Stone, Ava Stone, great-nephew Eathen Stone, honorary grandson Anthony Abruzzino and grand-dog Gus. Anita was preceded in death by her father, Albert Stone, mother, Josephine Stone, brother Julian Stone, and sister Helen Fleming.
Services will be held at the home of her daughter and son-in-law. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America, Gary Sinise Foundation, Room to Read, or World Literacy Foundation.
