Arlene Silk, obituary
Arlene Silk nee Geltman passed away peacefully on June 20, 2022 at the age of 94.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Arthur, and is survived by
her son, Alan Silk and daughters Shari Silk and Carrie Cerdeiras-Silk, as well as
her grandchildren, Erik Silk (and Emily Schwartz), Kevin Silk (and Alison
Bower), and her devoted caregiver, Tamika Gordon.
Arlene was born in Newark, NJ and attended Weequahic High School. She
resided in Union, NJ with her husband, Arthur, until moving to Boynton
Beach, Florida in 2005.
She was active in the National Kidney Foundation NJ and Hadassah and generously
supported many good causes. She loved playing cards with "the ladies"
and, at 90, was captain of her bocce team. Arlene loved museums, art
galleries, classical music and opera. She was truly curious about everything,
sharp as a tack and loved to read and learn about history. Arlene cherished
her family and they adored her. She was a beautiful person, a tenacious fighter who loved life, a wonderful wife, parent, grandparent and friend. But, most of all, she was a good human being, beloved by all who knew her.
