I have known Artie since we were roommates thru out Medical School .[1963.]
We loosely kept in touch thru out the years as he lived in Fl. and me in Ct. We visited when I would vacation in Fl and he in Ct.[ attending his Yale reunions with his friends] . He would stay at my farm residence afterwards. His character never changed as he was as fun loving, talkative and caring since the first day on our rotations
EVERY rheumatology patient I referred to him while they were in PB for the season , thanked me for doing so, They all expressed his sincere compassion shown when seeing him..
I will miss discussing old stories with him as we were single in Med School and shared experiences about our active social lives thru out those 4 years.

Today I learned my friend was gone

He cared for me, made jokes with me
Physician, yes, but so much more
Relief of pain was in his game
His weapon was the Novocaine that
Brought some Cortisone to fight Inflame
Ah how I’ll miss the man he was
Husband, father, scholar too
