Barbara Lee Harris' Obituary
Barbara Lee Harris, age 91 of Delray Beach, originally from Baltimore, passed away on April 22nd. Beloved wife of Nathan David Isaacs, Barbara is survived by her endeared daughters Susan White, Anne Levin, Gail Levin, Ellen Isaacs Baselice, and Emily (Joe) Dugan; cherished grandchildren Samantha Radinsky, Alexandra Vincent, and Harrison White; adored great grandchildren Elliott Vincent and Sophia Radinsky; and treasured cousins, nephews, nieces, and great nieces and nephews.
Barb is described by her family as wonderful, classy and sassy, kind, loving, fun, goofy, generous, “a light in this world,” “a force to be reckoned with,” with a great sense of humor and a sharp wit. The beloved “Matriarch” of the Harris family, her priority was very clear, always, family first, and she made sure everyone in her life knew that. Barb made time for everyone, going to every special event, and had a unique way of making us feel special. To be a part of her world was an honor.
Barbara’s work passion was writing, and she specialized in parodies as simple as a birthday song and as grand as an entire show for the Commercial Law League. She was never at a loss for words and loved playing Scrabble with her Ned and Words with Friends (and family)! She was a master wordsmith up to the very end and displayed her generosity writing a thank-you song to sing at her own 90th birthday party.
It didn’t matter where Barb went, she lit up a room. She was often the life of the party and would stop by to say hello to whomever she knew. Her beloved Ned said that he loved that about her. Those two were truly made for each other and the love they shared remains an inspiration.
She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren unconditionally and was a powerful example of perseverance. She had a positive outlook on everything and refused to be swayed by negativity. As she would say, “Time for the next chapter.”
Private services will be held Thursday, April 27th at 12:15 at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens in Boynton Beach. Donations may be made to the Mildred Mindell Cancer Foundation, Baltimore, Maryland.
