Barbara Rubel's Obituary
Barbara Sue (Resnick) Rubel, age 87, of Boynton Beach, Florida, passed away on June 8, 2025.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, to Estelle and Jerry Resnick—who later became Mayor of North Lauderdale, Florida—Barbara, known affectionately as Bobbi, lived a life filled with love, learning, and adventure.
She met the love of her life, Morton Rubel, and they married in 1958. Together, they moved to Madison, New Jersey, and later settled in Bridgewater, where they raised their family and spent over 30 wonderful years. After a brief time in North Carolina, they retired in Florida.
Bobbi had a lifelong passion for travel and education. She spent her career as a dedicated teacher and remained active in retirement through her involvement with the Brandeis University Women’s Group. She was known for her remarkable memory—never forgetting a birthday or anniversary—and treasured the deep friendships she built over the years. Above all, her greatest joy was spending time with her beloved grandchildren.
