Barry Marc Fox's Obituary
Barry Fox, the most loved, kindest and gentlest man has passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021.
Barry was born in Manhattan on May 29, 1945 and lived in the Bronx where he went to Christopher Columbus High School where he met his beautiful bride, Marilyn Solomon. They were married on September 19, 1965, 56 wonderful years. Barry owned a family operated men’s clothing and haberdashery store in Pelham Parkway in the Bronx. Marilyn and Barry had two adoring children, Steven and Melissa, who later on gave them 3 wonderful grandchildren: Sara, Corey and Jake. After Marilyn and Barry’s children were on their own, they moved to Florida for an easier lifestyle, where Barry couldn’t be happier. Barry enjoyed playing tennis and cards, bowling and being with his many friends. Driving and shopping for cars was his passion. Barry also had a big appetite for chocolate and never turned down an offer for dessert. When his children and grandchildren came to visit, Barry was in his glory. He loved telling jokes to his grandkids, sending funny and not so funny emails and being a silly grandpa. Barry was always well dressed and impressed upon his children and grandchildren.
Barry is a true survivor, battling stage 4 cancer for over 4 years. He continued to enjoy life to the fullest while undergoing several surgeries and treatments. Barry is a testament to bravery and strength. He will be missed tremendously and will forever be in his family’s hearts. May he always know the special impact he had, not only on his family, but on his friends as well.
Service will be held November 30, 2021 at 10:15am at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, Delray Beach, Florida. Interment to follow at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens.
