Barton H. Leit's Obituary
Barton H. Leit, died on Friday, December 30, 2022 at age 84. He was born to James and Rose (Usatch) Leit and raised in the New York metro area.
He was married to the love of his life, Ceil (Waldman) Leit for over 60 years. It was love at first sight and they were married shortly after Ceil graduated High School and Bart finished college. He joined the Air National Guard and deployed to Germany for a year right after his wedding.
Barton graduated from Pratt Institute. As a graphic designer and ad genius he found his niche in the New York advertising scene. He was a respected art director at a Fortune 500 company in NY and lead many successful ad and branding campaigns.
Bart was a dedicated husband, loving father, grandfather and uncle. A generous and kind hearted human being, he always put his family first. Bart is sadly predeceased by his wife, Ceil, son, Evan, daughter-in-law, Jodi, and older sister, Phyllis. He is survived by his son, Michael (Candice) Leit, grandchildren Mindi, Jeremiah, Aliza, Ariana, Aidan, and Josefina Leit, brother Mitchell (Doris) Leit, brother-in-law Marvin (Ellen) Waldman, many nephews and nieces, and personal assistant Ellen Bradford. Barton raised a great family, he built not just a house but a home. He traveled extensively and instilled important values in his kids and grandkids. He taught them to be inquisitive, caring and all around good people.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 10:15 am at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel at 5808 West Atlantic Ave., Delray Beach, Florida, followed by a graveside service.
The family will be sitting shiva from 1:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday.
