BASIL (BUZZY) SCHIFF's Obituary
Basil (Buzzy) Schiff, loving husband, family man and friend, passed away on August 18, 2021. He was a devoted husband to Lois for 59 years, father to Deborah (Jonathan), Wendy (Russel) and Roy (Elise) who he adored, and most proud of his six grandchildren, Aaron, Lauryn, Marni, Matthew, Chloe, and Georgia. He was a loving brother to Edward (Beatrice). His dogs throughout his adult life added much to home and heart.
Born in New York City and attended The Bronx High School of Science where he graduated at 16 and continued his education at the University of Buffalo where he met his future bride. After graduating from college, Buzzy pursued his professional education and became an accomplished oral surgeon in Northern Virginia after serving two years in the United States Army. After practicing dentistry for 45 years, Buzzy retired with Lois to Florida to enjoy the next stage of life. In Florida, he found his home with new and old friends, as he pursued his lifelong interests and hobbies.
Buzzy’s favorite pastimes included growing orchards, cooking, eating, fishing, driving to all kinds of destinations, traveling, golf and cheering for his beloved New York Yankees and Washington Capitals. To say the least, he loved doing these things with his wife, children, and grandchildren. His favorite times were those spent with his family.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at 12:30pm at:

Shiva to be observed Monday – Thursday up North.
