Bernard Elias' Obituary
Bernard Elias, born August 22nd 1931, passed away February 26th, 2018. He passed peacefully surrounded by his family late in the afternoon, due to natural causes involving Parkinson. Bernie, to his friends and family, was a titan of his industry, a vice president for Family Dollar, and Giant Food. He was also instrumental in pushing federal safety laws for toy and children safety. He was passionate about his family, golf, and the Chicago Cubs. Bernard is survived by his wife of sixty-one years Florence Joan Elias, his daughters Nancy and Sharon, son-in-law Steve, Nancy’s partner Lisa, and three grandsons Dylan, Elijah, and Josh. He is predeceased by his brother Paul, and his granddaughter Heather. Instead of flowers or a memorial, the family asks that donations be made to the National Parkinson Foundation.
