Bernard Reiss, a great and kind father, husband and leader who pulled himself up from his bootstraps to lead a magnificent life, has left us – for the moment – on September 7, 2018 at 1:30 PM, in the midst of his 97th year.
Bernard was president of Sealy mattress company of Maryland and Virginia and was widely beloved by his employees. He was respected as much for his high standards, determination and expectations, as he was for his love, compassion, and refusal to ever give up on an employee or person whom others had written off.
His wonderful and beloved wife of 51 years Connie, preceded him and anxiously awaits him at the pearly duplicate bridge game above. Both Connie and Bernard were life masters at bridge, but she was way better. Sorry dad, just fact.
His children ( Deborah, Roberta and Richard) will miss him terribly, while feeling grateful and unfathomably lucky for having had the best dad in the world.
