BERNARD ARNOLD WISEBLATT's Obituary
Bernard Arnold Wiseblatt, 85, of Boynton Beach, Florida, passed away at the Specialty Select Hospital in Lake Worth, Florida on Wednesday, August 19th. He was born on July 23, 1935 and was the devoted husband of Emily Belkin Wiseblatt whom he married on August 25, 1963.
Bernard Wiseblatt attended the prestigious Boston Latin School from 1947 to 1953, and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from Harvard University in 1957, followed by a Masters Degree in 1958 from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. He was dedicated as a tubist in the Harvard Band, where he served as coordinator of the social activities of the Band to maintain and bolster esprit de corps. He also was Director of the Harvard Summer Band. He prided himself on his Harvard education and inspired two of his children to follow this legacy.
Of his professional accomplishments, he taught band for thirty-six years in Brentwood, NY and Massapequa, NY until 1996. He was lauded by parents throughout his music teaching career for inspiring students towards excellence in musicianship.
He lived in Kings Park, Long Island, NY where he was an active member of the Kings Park Jewish Center. There he volunteered as the Bingo Coordinator to raise needed funding. He was greatly appreciated by the synagogue members.
Bernard Wiseblatt retired to Boynton Beach, Florida where he continued to be active as a tuba player in the Symphonic Band of the Palm Beaches. He enjoyed spending quiet time at home with his wife until he was sent to rehabilitation and then hospitalization for complications due to kidney cancer.
He is survived by his wife, Emily, his children, Perry, Eric and Vicki (Devora Gila Berkowitz) and eight grandchildren who live in New Jersey, Long Island and Israel. He will be missed by those whose lives he touched.
