Betty Meltzer's Obituary
Betty Meltzer, 93, of Boynton Beach passed away on May 13, 2026
Betty Rose Meltzer entered the world on November 16, 1932, in Memphis, TN and was the dear daughter of the late Aba & Lena Makowsky. Betty was blessed with a beautiful soprano voice that she shared with friends and family. Betty met Max Trotz of Chattanooga and married January 1956. They had 2 children, Michael & Karen. Max unexpectedly passed away January of 1972. After many years of being single, Betty met Louis Meltzer who lived in Dalton, GA. In February of 1989, Betty married Louis (Papa Lou) (deceased 2014) and shortly thereafter moved to Boynton Beach where they shared a beautiful life together.
Betty is survived by her loving sister Beverly Frank, her 2 children Michael (Elaine) Trotz and Karen (Phil) Sterman, her 2 step sons David (Susan) and Neil Meltzer (Jane/deceased), her grandchildren Max (Alanna) and Abby Trotz, Alex (Lindsay) Meltzer, Ashleigh (Trip) Lauber, Ben (Melanie) and Jeff Meltzer and great grandchildren Russell, Jordyn and Dylan Meltzer, Landon and Rhett Lauber.
Betty loved to sing and was active in the B’nai Zion Congregation of Chattanooga choir and sisterhood. She loved a lively game of Scrabble and was well known for her chocolate chip mandel bread and rolled cabbage. She was a force to be reckoned with and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Rest in peace our dear Betty Rose.
