Beverly Meissner's Obituary
Beverly Meissner, 95, Beloved Matriarch and Life of the Party
Beverly Meissner, a woman who could light up any room she entered, passed away peacefully in South Florida at the age of 95. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Beverly lived a full and vibrant life across Lawrence and Monticello, NY, and Boca Raton, FL.
Beverly was, above all else, the heart of her family. A devoted mother of four, she went on to become grandmother to eleven and great-grandmother to eighteen — a legacy that speaks not just to the years she lived, but to the love she poured into every single one of them. She was her family’s greatest champion, showing up with unwavering pride and enthusiasm for each and every milestone, big or small.
Known affectionately for “the Beverly way” — her wonderfully unapologetic approach to doing things entirely on her own terms — Beverly moved through life with a spirit that was impossible not to admire. She was a social butterfly in the truest sense, the kind of person who made every gathering feel like a celebration simply by being there. Friends and family knew to find her at the mahjong or bridge table, and knew equally well not to expect a home-cooked meal.
A proud supporter of Israel and the Jewish people, Beverly carried her faith and her community close to her heart throughout her life. She leaves behind her beloved brother, Richard, her four children—Margo, Michele, Philip, and Stuart—and generations of family whose lives are immeasurably richer for having had her in them.
Beverly was preceded in death by her husband and lifelong sweetheart, George — and those who loved her find comfort in knowing that he was there, waiting with open arms, to welcome her home.
She will be deeply missed, endlessly remembered, and never, ever replaced.
