Bruce Robbins' Obituary
Bruce Robbins lived his 90+ years to the fullest. Born in Brooklyn, NY on November 19, 1934, to Mina and Joseph Robbins, he grew up in Merrick, NY. He was a great athlete, even drafted onto the Dodgers Farm Team. His lifelong passion for golf was enjoyed from his teens right up until his passing. Bruce began his professional career with his father in the life insurance business and built a successful career for himself that lasted over 60 years. He truly loved how he made his living. Personally, and professionally, he wanted to take care of people. He was a fixer and a problem solver.
Bruce packed many lives into one and lived fully until his death. A big personality, Bruce loved and was loved by many. Bruce was unforgettable––a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, an athlete, a businessman, a great friend, a lover of people, golf, scotch, and a well-done steak with ketchup, topped off by the perfect dessert of chocolate ice cream and Hershey's chocolate syrup. Bruce loved to laugh and make people laugh. He was one funny man! He loved being surrounded by family and friends. His generosity knew no limits. His presence was immense, and he knew how to work a room.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Abby Robbins, and his children Beth Robbins (Steve Meyerowitz z’’l), Julie Robbins, Michael Robbins (Chelsea), Michelle (Robbins) Cato (Matt), Samantha (Robbins) Jamali (Ash), Kasey Robbins (Alejandro Reyes), his step-daughter, Dana Domrongchai (Sichon), his grandchildren Gabrielle, Ari, Noah, Corey, Adam, Stephanie, William, Nicholas, Sofia, Luca, Miles, Leah, Ruby, Wilder, Chessie, Ali, and Maxx, and two great grandchildren: Connor and Theodore. Bruce is also survived by his beloved sister, Donna (Robbins) Feldman, and many families and friends who are too numerous to list.
