Burton Ira Gubenko's Obituary
Burton Ira Gubenko passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 28th, 2025 after a long hard battle fighting kidney disease. Through his fight, he never complained, but always kept smiling.
Burt spent his early years growing up in Brooklyn before moving to Hackensack with his mother Shirley. They built a beautiful life together and eventually, Burt went off to study at Alfred University, where he majored in business and History. After college, Burt was called off to the armed forces and was first a lieutenant in the Army before being honorably discharged.
After college, Burton went to work at Lehman Brothers in NYC. Shortly thereafter, Burt was introduced to Judi Urdang and her daughter Kari. From the get go, he knew he found the person he wanted to marry.
Burton was a commercial and industrial real estate broker, and was also a member of the Preakness Hills Country Club in Wayne, NJ for 30 years.
We believe the true glory in Burton’s life was when his grandchildren were born. Burton leaves behind his beloved wife, Judi, of 48 years, his daughter Kari, and grandsons Dylan and Drew, and daughter Lacey, son-in-law Tony and two granddaughters, Sophia and Amelia. A brother, Stewie Gubenko, wife Anne, nephews, Michael and Brett.
Before Burt became ill, golf was his life and second was food! If Burt wasn’t home, he was either on the course or eating something, or both! Our father was and will always be a mench, whom everyone loved. He was a good man with a heart, so big you could feel it radiate when he was next to you.
He is no longer in pain and is up there hitting ‘em straight - double fisting Callahan’s hotdogs and drinking a Yoohoo ❤️
A funeral service will be held at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel (DELRAY LOCATION),
at 12:30pm on Friday, October 3, 2025.
5808 West Atlantic Avenue Delray Beach, FL 33484.
