Chad Trabitz's Obituary
Chad Michael Trabitz (October 6, 1977 - January 1, 2026)
Chad Trabitz, 48, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away on January 1, 2026.
Chad was born in Dayton, Ohio to Allan and Mary Lou Trabitz and graduated from Hillel Academy in 1996. Chad earned his bachelor’s degree from Ohio University in 2000. Chad went on to work as an Investor Reporting Analyst for JP Morgan Chase for nearly 20 years.
Chad was many things, but above all, he was deeply loyal: to the people he loved, and to the things that brought him joy. Few things made him happier than his favorite sports teams. He had a love for the Cincinnati Reds and the Cincinnati Bengals, and he was a massive fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Columbus Blue Jackets. Wins felt personal to him, and losses did too. Watching a game with him meant passion, commentary, and sometimes frustration, but always heart.
Chad also loved movies and had an impressive depth and breadth of movie trivia knowledge. It didn’t matter about the genre or the year—he knew it. Watching movies with him meant learning things you never noticed before, and being reminded how much fun it is to truly love something. Playing Movie Trivia on long car rides was an exercise in him pulling a gem from some obscure comedy and being astounded that you did not remember that pearl of humor.
In addition to his loving parents, Chad is survived by his brother and favorite verbal sparring partner, Adam (wife Jennifer), and nephews Sam, Evan, and Zach. Chad is also survived by his cherished dog, Betty, who never left his side.
A chapel service will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at 11:00 am at Beth Israel Delray Beach Chapel, 5808 Atlantic Ave, Delray Beach, FL 33484, followed by burial at 12:15 pm at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens, 11520 FL-7, Boynton Beach, FL 33473.
