Charles Feldman's Obituary
Charles Feldman, 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 19, 2023. Charles never met a person he couldn’t – or wouldn’t – talk to. Born in Brooklyn, New York, to Lawrence and Bessie Feldman in 1936, he stayed local, attending classes at Columbia and marrying the love of his life, Sheila, in 1959. The couple and their children, Alan and Jodi, moved to New Jersey where they would stay and make some of their closest friends. Charles was active in the local Jewish community, serving as president of the JCC and singing in the choir, and could almost always be found on the golf course (he had a count of how many holes-in-one, but the number was almost definitely exaggerated). Eventually, Charles and Sheila moved south to Florida, first just as snowbirds and then permanently, where they finally escaped the snow and New Jersey drivers. Charles treated everyone as a friend, from his neighbors to the Publix bagger. He golfed more, played poker and enjoyed retirement to the fullest. He loved nothing more than telling stories, some true, some not, and making people laugh. He was loved truly and he loved truly. Charles is survived by wife Sheila; son Alan Feldman; daughter Jodi Weingold and her husband Keith; and four grandchildren, Kate Feldman, Megan Feldman, Jason Weingold and Andrew Weingold.
The funeral service will take place on Friday, July 21, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel-Boynton Beach. Charles will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens.
