Cypora Silfan's Obituary
Cypora Gelber Silfan z'l, 73, a resident of Delray Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully at Trustbridge Hospice in Delray Medical Center on December 18, 2021. Cypora is survived by her beloved husband Stephen, daughter Beverly (Bob) Callicutt, and adored granddaughter Morgan. Cypora, born to Sylvia and Leon Gelber in Poland, grew up in Israel. She immigrated to the United States at the age of 15, finishing her high school career at Erasmus Hall in Brooklyn, NY. She married Steve in 1971, and the family lived in Brooklyn until 1997. Steve and Cypora moved to Albany, Georgia at that time and then retired there. She worked in the travel industry in New York and later as a Library Assistant at Darton College/Albany State University in Georgia. She was a volunteer in the NICU at Pheobe Putney Hospital in Albany. Steve and Cypora were members of Temple B'nai Israel in Albany. They later fully retired to Delray Beach, FL in 2019. Cypora enjoyed crocheting, going to shows, spending time with friends and family, and volunteering at the community library in Delray Beach. She met no stranger and made many friends along the way, many of whom she considered family. She will be missed by all.
A graveside service will be held in New York.
