David Posner's Obituary
David Posner, or Dave Posner, but never, ever, Sir or Mr. Posner, originally of Bronx, NY, and most recently of Boynton Beach, FL after four decades in Merrick, NY, passed away March 24, 2024 at the age of 80. Dave came to be in September of 1943, brought into this world by Morris & Gertrude Posner. He is survived by his wife, Sherry, son, Mitch, Mitch’s wife Gina, and his daughter Rory. Additionally, he was also a proud grandfather of William, Tyler, JJ, Kristin & Daniel, and not least of all, his greatest joy, Bella, his great granddaughter. He is also survived by a nephew, Gary Blaustein, his wife Liz, and his three children, Aaron, Ethan, Samantha and Samantha’s son, Ricky. And we cannot leave out his favorite grandpuppy, Skyler, a very good girl, who misses him terribly. And lastly, there is a cast of scores of other people he adopted along the way and took under the wing of his family.
Dave firmly believed in the magic of the NY Yankees, the velvet comfort of a smooth, fine aged scotch, and the pure enjoyment of a blood red ribeye, but his greatest love was truly his family, for which no effort was too great. He enjoyed dancing at any event he attended and usually owned the dance floor with his wife at his side. He was a lifelong science fiction fanatic and would not choose between the greatness of Star Trek and Star Wars in the long-lasting debate. A long, long time ago, David Posner came into this world and boldly went everywhere, continually conquering his part of the space-time continuum. He has truly passed into the final frontier now and will be missed by so very many.
Services are Thursday, March 28th at 12:15 PM, at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel in Boynton Beach. Burial to take place immediately following at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens, also in Boynton Beach. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in Dave’s honor be made to the Wounded Warrior Project (https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/).
