DAVID ROSENSTEIN's Obituary
David Rosenstein February 23, 1930 – October 1 2017.
Born in Lisbon, Portugal. David Rosenstein, was a respected and renowned worldwide opera singer and character actor known in the field, as David Ronson. He sang with the New York City Opera and traveled all over the world for his performances. He was known for his roles as a bass singer in operas such as The Barber of Seville, Tosca, Puccini and so many others. Prior to beginning his career as an opera singer, he studied to become a Cantor and worked as a Cantor for several years in a synagogue in Brooklyn. He was an accomplished musician and piano player. He was also a Korean War veteran.
As a highly intellectual man, he spoke five languages fluently, most of which he taught himself over the years. He had an unquenchable thirst for learning and could never get his hands on enough books and articles. He read the New York Times from first to last page on a daily basis. He studied the encyclopedia and the dictionary, daily. He was a lover of music, the Arts, politics and philosophy and he always had a strong opinion on many different subjects which he shared regularly.
He was a kind, caring, compassionate and giving individual. He was a loyal and loving husband to his wife, Luciana Rosenstein, who passed away in 2006, the loving father of one daughter, Viviana Rosenstein, and the loving grandfather of Avian Haviv, all of whom he cherished dearly. David Rosenstein, has indelibly etched his talent, intelligence, bravery, and kind soul into the heart of his family, and this world, for eternity.
