Dennis, son to my father's brother Willy and my mother's sister Mildred, grew up with me in North Bergen, NJ...just a few blocks away. When I was "cute little cousin Donny," Dennis became the cool cousin I looked up to. He called me "Shrimp" and I called him "Big Cuz" all the way into our older years (even though we ended around the same height). I always felt and returned the love in our phone conversations. Although we hadn't seen each other in years--my fault--we shared so much laughter and worried about the same political things in our phone calls. His warmth was effusive. Dennis was a kind, loving man, to the core of his being. A seemingly little thing; he even trusted me to play with his spectacular basement Lionel trainset...on my own! It's funny now, but he and his late brother Eugene had a wilder facet I never had...the 2 of them racked up a bushel of speeding tickets (my mother was mortified when Eugene made the local paper for an unpaid fine), and I remember only getting 2 in my long lifetime.
We will all have our own ways of grieving this terrible loss, none felt more than his wonderful wife Judy and terrific son Evan. My Big Cuz, his love, and his laughter I can still hear will be in my heart forever. With All My Love and Sympathy, Cousin Donny
