Diane was my dear friend since we met in Camp Brady when we were 12 or 13 years old. Over the past 20 years or so, she & I took several trips together - to Maine, Vermont, Rhode Island; we spent 6 days in Chicago together in July 2021. Diane was an excellent trip planner & always made our itinerary! She'd fly up to NJ (later NYC) from FL & stay with us &/or her other friends in the area; then I'd drive to those New England destinations.
We were 2 of a group of 5 friends born the same year who've also traveled as a group; to Lodge at Woodloch in PA (2011) and to New Orleans (2016).
When I heard she was ill, I wanted to come down to see her, perhaps to be of some small assistance. But she put me off - "come in September." I am beyond sad that I only spoke with her on the phone but did not insist on coming.
Diane was an independent woman; worked hard & loved to travel. I know she was active in Hadassah & loved to read. She & I loved to shop & eat out together! She was a close friend and I miss her. My sincere condolences go out to the family, & to the friends who will also miss her.
