One of my most fondest memories is when he introduced your mother to Bill and me. He said "be on your best behavior because I really like this girl"..
We had many happy and fun times. I loved your father and mother....
I met Donald Waldman, affectionately called Don, when I was sent to his home as a caregiver to take care of his wife Doris by Robin (R.N. Home Health).
For approximately six and a half years I worked for Don and Doris and Don made me laugh every day. Don was witty as he was funny. We would banter each other everyday and we both enjoyed the humor we got out of it. Don would often tell me fascinating stories about his time in the military. This one story stood out in my mind when he was stationed in Puerto Rico and his superior officer moved him to a new job of being a gunner. Don’s job was to practice on the machine gun in a particular area but he said he turned the gun in the opposite direction and almost blew up a whole town, needless to say, that was his last day on that job. I never let him forget that after he told me, I often banter him and reminded him about when he almost wiped out a whole town. The last time I reminded him of this story was on March 9, when I visited him for his birthday after getting a call from April telling me that he was very ill, he chuckled after I repeated the story.
Here are a few words I would use to describe Don…
Kind, thoughtful, FUNNY, WITTY, loyal, caring and loving father, grandfather, brother, etc.
My sincere condolences to April, Hope and family. May you be blessed by his memories.
I was blessed by knowing him.

The day we took the boat out and he captained it, and he is very stubborn. We were stuck at a bridge waiting for bigger boats to pass and we had to yield to them. But he was impatient and said, forget it. We're going and a big wake took us out, knocked us against some trees and the bridge, and we damaged the boat. He said, hit the deck. And me and my friend laid on the floor of the boat until we stopped hitting stuff. And then afterward, she said, you are right, you can captain it now.
He had many quips of advise and knowledge he would share with me. One was when someone hurts you and does not treat you how you deserve cut them out like cancer. Another is don't get depressed if everyday is not extraordinary. Because life at its best is just so so. Then when you have an extraordinary day it is a bonus.
