I met Doree at the DBTC in Delray almost 15 years ago. That is where our original group of friends began. Not only did we play tennis but as a group we went downtown afterwards and had fun! We all shared what was happening in our lives with family, work, boyfriends, travel, you name it we all talked about it. Then our group got interested in golf. It was fun and a new experience for all of us. Doree became an awesome golfer. One time we all golfed in Broward county. She was already a great tennis player. It was a new outlet for our group of friends. Doree hosted great parties with a lot of interesting people at her beautiful home. Among many memories over the years, I'd like to mention some special ones: one time after we all golfed in Broward county we decided to go out to a nice place in Boca. They had a band, reserved a table for about 12 or 15 of us with great food and appetizers. That day was my birthday. Doree had arranged a special cake and celebration for me. I had no idea she knew it was my birthday and went out of her way to make my day special. Another memory was at Kathleen's wedding – we all had a great time and danced the night away, our original group of friends. I also remember a party at Minnie's apartment one night, Doree brought her sister Ruby and her mom to the party. There was a patio in the courtyard where we could all sit outside and enjoy the evening. We had great conversation and fun. As the evening went on all of a sudden and without much warning it began to rain hard, we were all laughing and ran into Minnie's apartment for cover. Doree's golf outings were really great! Janet, me, and Kathy supported them and participated in the event for not only a great cause, but for our friend Doree! Doree always supported her friends no matter what. Doree, thank you for being my friend, thank you for the memories, I will always remember! God Bless you, your family and friends, you will live in our hearts forever! Your friend, Sara Hewitt
