Edward Balch's Obituary
Edward Balch, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 17, 2016, at age 70 in his home in Boynton Beach, Florida surrounded by his family.
Ed is survived by the love of his life, Linda. of 44 years. He is also survived by his mother Lee Beckett and his brother Richard Balch. He is predeceased by his father Edward Balch, Sr. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Eleanor Rosenkranz, brother-in-law Neil Rosenkranz, his wife Babs and their children Craig and his wife Dana, Jill and Andy. He is also survived by Nancy Olivera who was like a daughter to him, her husband Fernando, her daughter Mafy, and her son Enrique and his wife Carolina.
Ed served during the Vietnam War as a medic in Cape Cod and Hawaii and was a proud member of the Air Force.
He graduated from Florida International University with a degree in Bachelor of Business Administration, with honors. After graduating from Georgia State University with a degree in Master of Business Administration, he worked for Southern Company in Atlanta, Georgia as a Financial Analyst. He later worked as a Personal Financial Analyst.
Ed and Linda met in Miami and lived there for several years before moving to Atlanta to get his MBA. They resided in Marietta, Georgia for 34 years prior to returning to Florida two years ago.
Ed had been quite active prior to his illness, playing tennis at a very high level. He also had passion for traveling around the world and was able to speak some in 46 different languages.
Anyone who knew Ed knew how much of a people person he was and his love for life. He was a popular and gregarious man and loved by all.
The memorial service will be Monday, November 21, at 11:30 a.m. at the Beth Israel Memorial Chapel in Boynton Beach with the burial at Mount Nebo Cemetery in Miami. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 2701 N. Australian Avenue, West Palm Beach, Florida 33407-4596.
Shiva will be at the home on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m..
