Elaine Baker's Obituary
Elaine Gold Baker died peacefully in her sleep at home in Delray Beach, Florida on April 3, 2016 at the age of 887, Elaine was born in Providence, Rhode Island, daughter of Joseph & Esther Gold. Raised in Providence, RI, she and her beloved “Sonny” lived in Lewiston, ME for many years, Warwick, RI for 20 years before moving to Delray Beach, FL to live their later years.
She was a devoted and loving wife and mother, and later grandmother and great grandmother. Her family meant everything to her. She will be missed by all who knew her.
During her lifetime, Elaine was very active in the Jewish Community in Lewiston, involved in the Jewish Community Center, the Sisterhood of the synagogue. She was a great dancer, teaching dancing to many in the community. She was a clothes model, an actress involved in community theater and played Tom Bosleys wife in a Rt. 66 episode. She was an avid golfer and tennis player until health issues no longer allowed it.
Elaine was the consummate Jewish Mother, loving, caring and giving. She is survived by her sons Jay Baker of Tucson, AZ and Mark Baker of Tucson, AZ, daughter-in-law Janet Baker, grandsons Jeffrey Baker of Phoenix, AZ and Ryan Baker, of Fairhope, AL., granddaughter-in-law Carson Baker, great grandsons Robert Baker and Thomas Baker. She is also survived by brother Herbert Gold, sister-in-law Ruthie Gold and many nieces and nephews.
A chapel l service will be held at 12:45 PM on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, 11115 Jog Road, Boynton Beach, Florida followed by interment at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens, Boynton Beach, Florida.
