Elaine Wershba's Obituary
Elaine Wershba, residing at Harbour’s Edge in Delray Beach, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2018 at age 94. Elaine was born in New York City on March 8, 1923 to Lester and Rose Schachter. She lived primarily in the states of New York and Florida and enjoyed over 20 years as a member of the St. Andrews Country Club in Boca Raton. She survived two husbands, Mac Bernstein and Samuel Wershba, and a daughter, Linda Clarke.
Elaine devoted her life to raising and nurturing her large family. She was an avid bridge player, loved to travel and socialize, and made many treasured friends. She is survived by her brother, Sherman Schachter, her children, Martin, Jerold and Susan Wershba and Emil Bernstein, and three daughters-in-law, Ronda Wershba, Felicia Wershba, and Natalie Bernstein. She had eight grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, located at 5808 W. Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach, at 11:00 o’clock on Friday, February 9, 2018. The service will be immediately followed by a one-day shiva at the home of Emil and Natalie Bernstein in the Broken Sound Club at 2198 NW 59th Street, Boca Raton.
