Ellen Saposnik's Obituary
Ellen Sandra Saposnik, age 66, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2017. As Captain of Team Bubbie, Ellen “The Warrior” Saposnik led a life full of joy, optimism, kindness and love until the very end. She grew up in Long Island, NY and after meeting her husband of over 42 years in Israel moved to Delray Beach, FL. Extremely active in her temple, Ellen was a life-long educator, collected children’s books and bears, made hundreds of baby blocks by hand which were donated to children at a local hospital and spent her final months enjoying her three young grandchildren. She leaves behind a loving husband Steven, children Ilana (Yariv) and Noah (Fallon), brother Ron (Ellen) and her beloved grandchildren Leah Chaika, Ariel Nathan and Natan Shalom. Ellen added so much light into this world and will be missed by all.
The funeral will take place on Tuesday, July 25 at 12pm at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel – 5808 West Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach – and burial following at Star of David Cemetery – 9321 Memorial Park Road in West Palm Beach.
Shiva will be held at the Saposnik residence in Delray Beach on Tuesday, July 25 until 9pm and on Wednesday, July 26 from 3-9pm. Shiva will also be held at the Gilat residence in Bay Harbor Island’s on Thursday, July 27 from 4-9pm.
Donations can be made in Ellen’s memory to Temple Sinai of Delray Beach.
