Dear Carol, Sean, Danielle, Rusty, and the entire Greenberg family,
I was deeply saddened to hear of Farrel’s passing. The Greenbergs were like a second family to me growing up, and Farrel was very much like a second father.
I spent so much of my high school years at the Greenberg home, and some of my fondest memories were made there. As one of Sean’s closest friends, I was welcomed into your warm, often hilarious, and loving household — as an Italian-Spanish Catholic kid, getting an education in the life and celebrations of a Jewish family is something I will always appreciate and cherish.
The Greenbergs were also a huge part of our own family celebrations, Farrell was always amongst those who were the life of the party.
Farrel and Carol were endlessly generous, relaxed, and welcoming to those entering their home — and that extended to their kids friends. They also permitted both their children, Sean and Danielle, to have multiple friends over for sleepovers, which made them especially fun and memorable. I always great appreciated them for hospitality and the wonderfully fun environment they permitted me to be a part of.
Farrel always made me feel at home. He joked with me as if I were one of his own, which meant he sometimes picked on me — always in good fun though — and he filled every room he entered with his quick wit and charm. It’s easy to see where Sean gets a good deal of his sense of humor — heck, you are all funny Greenbergs and Farrel’s spirit lives on through all of you in this way and many others. He will be greatly missed.
Please know that you are all in my thoughts, and Wendy, Ginevra, and the entire Tornabene family are sending you our love and strength during this time of loss.
With Love,
Livio Tornabene, London ON Canada
