Fern Pearl's Obituary
Fern Pearl, 80, originally of Floral Park, NY, and more recently of Boynton Beach, passed away January 14, 2024. Fern came to be in Queens, NY, July 17, 1943, brought into this world by Sam & Bella Pearl. She is survived by her son, Gary Blaustein and his wife Liz, her grandchildren, Samantha, Ethan and Aaron Blaustein, and her greatest joy, Ricky, her great grandson. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Shereen & David Posner as well as her niece Rory Corsaw, her favorite nephew, Mitch Posner and his wife Gina. Additionally, she is survived by her pooch Cougar, who is a good girl, and misses her very much. She was preceded in death by her son Neal in 2020.
Fern was quite spiritual and very devoted to her Jewish heritage, but nothing was more important to her than family. She often shared how much she missed her mother, referring to her as her best friend. She was the quintessential straight shooter, so there was never any point in calling a duck anything but a duck unless you wanted to be corrected. And her personal anthem was Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide.” We are sure she is now seeing her reflection in the snow covered hills, but no more landslides will bring her down.
Services are Thursday, January 18th at 11:00 AM, at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel in Boynton Beach. Burial to take place immediately following at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in Fern's honor be made to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org).
