I have know Flora as Sharon’s loving mother who hosted fun parties and sleepovers with pancakes for Sharon and friends since grade school. Always smiling, laughing and sharing a story! As an adult I was blessed to be reacquainted with Sharon, Rhonda and Flora when Sharon and I became neighbors. We had the pleasure of navigation our married lives and raising our children together as part of a great friendship. Flora was a wonderful part of that as we enjoyed many visits together. I’ll always remember her as so fun, approachable, and easy to talk to. I will miss her smile and good company.

My mom and I were invited to a Seder dinner at the Bernstein's home. It was the first and only time we ever did this and it was a very welcoming and special thing for her to invite us. I'll always remember her smile, and love of her adopted Greyhounds.

in honor of Flora.

I miss my mother. I wish I had done for her, particularly in the end when she needed it the most. I found her difficult to be around partly because I am so similar to her. We do not feel comfortable asking for help. This does not mean that we do not care.

I saw how proficient she was in handling her affairs, her house was clean and organized. She was proficient enough with modern technology such as smart kitchen appliances and computers to use them effectively. She had a couple of cleaning ladies once a week, but she kept up the place so well they only needed to do the most difficult tasks.

She became a more social being than I remember her being in the past. She was willing to change, and I believe this is why she was able to live so long. Being in Florida and me in NY I did not know her very well.

She was loved, and I miss her.
