Ratner, Frances' Obituary
Frances Ruth Ratner (nee Hardy) was born on 1/27/1936 and died on 4/28/2026 surrounded by her loving family.
Fran was the daughter of Dora and Leo Hardy, and soon after graduating from Hunter College, she married George with whom she most recently celebrated 68 years of marriage. They raised their three children in Tappan, NY : Deborah (Tim) Silar, Edward (Anna) Ratner and Andrew (Tricia) Ratner and had a close circle of friends that lasted throughout her lifetime. In addition to her children, she was loved by her grandchildren- Alex Kligman, Claudia Ratner, Sam Ratner and Joseph (Bianca) Ratner, her great grandchildren, Harper and Logan Ratner and her beloved brother Joe (Kathy) Hardy.
Fran also had an accomplished professional life. After many years as an elementary school teacher, she embarked on a second career at the Federal Reserve Bank of NY where she retired as an Officer. Fran & George moved to Monroe, NJ (Concordia), and most recently Boynton Beach, Fl (Cascade Lakes). Fran was known for her keen intellect, quick wit, wonderful sense of style and abundant creativity. She had a very active life filled with sports, travel, family celebrations, NYTimes crossword puzzles, all things giraffe and fundraising for the Pap Corps. She was a dedicated Yankee fan from the time she was a child and never wavered in her support.
