Francis LaMagdelaine's Obituary
Francis L. LaMagdelaine, 77, died peacefully surrounded by family on January 29, 2023 in Delray Beach, FL following a long illness. He was born in Holyoke, MA on March 13, 1945 to the late Edmond and Aldea
LaMagdelaine. Francis, “Maggie”, graduated from Holyoke High School in 1963 where he was a three season athlete. Following high school he attended Cushing Academy for one year and later obtained an associates degree from Holyoke Community College. In 1965, he was drafted into the US Army and was stationed in Anchorage, AK during the Vietnam War for two years. Following his service in the army, Fran was a police officer with the Holyoke Police Department for several years. He then worked as a tax auditor for MA Dept. of Revenue for nearly 30 years before retiring in 2003. Fran was a lifelong athlete and sports enthusiast. The only thing he loved more than his family and friends was golf and you could almost always find him at Wycoff Country Club or Westchester Country Club. He leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Ann LaMagdelaine. He also leaves behind his children Jennifer (and Berkeley) O’Keefe of Sudbury, MA and Jed LaMagdelaine and his fiancee, Jaclyn Cassagio of Boynton Beach, FL. He was the beloved Papa to his adored granddaughters Olivia and Cecelia O’Keefe. Francis also leaves behind his siblings Rene (and Judy) LaMagdelaine, Leo (and Debbie) LaMagdelaine, Terry (and Wayne) Gilbert and Renee (and Dan)
Grzenia as well as many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held on February 1, 2023 at 1:00pm at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel Boynton Beach 1115 Jog Rd.
