The Abrams Family is deeply saddened to announce the death of Franklin Jay Abrams (known as Jerry) > Born May 17, 1934 > Died June 1st, 2024 > He was 90 years old > Cause of death Alzheimer's Disease. > Jerry lived in Delray Beach Florida, he was a New Yorker at heart, born and raised in Brooklyn. > He raised his family in Old Westbury. > He is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis of 66+ years of marriage, two daughters Kelly Gerber and Patti Howard, Son in law Alan Howard, Grandchildren, Sophie Gerber, Jessie and Aaron Lazarus, Nick Howard, Tommy Howard, Nephew Leigh & Gina Apperstein. > He was a proud honored Veteran of the Marine Corp and a Medic in the Navy in the 1950’s. > He was a proprietor in the housewares industry. A creative entrepreneur, in the late 1960’s he invented the over the sink cutting board, created and manufactured many useful kitchen items such as pepper mills, chopping blocks and wine racks. > Jerry was involved with charities, > St Jude, Veterans Foreign Wars, Paralyzed Vets, The Pap Corp, National Houseware Mfg Assoc. > He was a volunteer in the NYC Police department as a mounted policeman. He was lifetime lover of horses, cigars and his family. All donations please contribute to the Alzheimer’s Society in his honor.
